WHIMSICALITY: A THEATRE FOR YOUNG ACTORS
Over 100 young actors have been a part of our 6 main stage productions. Auditions will be held for our next summer show "Guys & Dolls Jr." in mid-June. Rehearsal will be Monday thru Thursday in the Afternoon. Our performance will be the first week of August. Director Devin L. Brown is looking for a large cast between the ages of 10 to 18. This is a fun introduction to physical science and the concept of force and motion. And what better way than to use rockets to demonstrate the basics of aeronautics such as thrust and drag. Children will design and build their own rockets, then launch it with compressed air! They’ll have a blast!!

WATERTOWN PERFORMING ARTS SUMMER PROGRAM
Watertown Recreation Department is sponsoring a very exciting program for summer 2009! Performing Arts Programs is offering its Performing Arts Summer Program in Watertown! Performing Arts Programs is a professional, progressive program designed for participants of all skill levels. We are dedicated to creating fun, comfortable, affirming environments to cultivate each individual’s own unique creativity. The mornings will consist of Acting and Dance classes. The afternoon will consist of rehearsals that will culminate with an end of the week performance for family and friends, Friday at 1:30 PM. All materials will be provided and included in the fee. Campers must bring their own lunch and snacks. There will be no extend a care. If you want to grow as a performer then these classes are for you! All Level of skills encouraged to attend!

**NEW** CURTAIN CALL KIDS
Curtain Call Kids is a theatrical program, directed by Deb McKenna and Rich McKenna, providing young people with opportunities valuable to their development in the arts. Curtain Call Kids’ eight-week introductory program brings the arts together in a comprehensive interdisciplinary program whereby participants learn all aspects of theater production while actively engaged in rehearsing for a live performance. Participants will learn vocal projection and dialogue to help develop language skills. Costume and prop creation will teach participants about the visual arts. Students will explore technology through the use of sound and lighting. In addition, participants embarking on this journey will learn basic audition techniques which will enhance self-esteem and in turn, enable them to feel more confident when exploring future productions. Furthermore, participants will meet some of Connecticut’s finest local actors and take part in outings to local theaters. This program will conclude with the musical production, “Seussical, Jr.”, upon the attainment of rights approval
