Watertown Recreation Department is sponsoring the following trips.  For more information please contact Watertown Recreation at (860) 945-5246. Payment must accompany registration.

These trips are open to residents as well as non-residents and are on a first-come first-served basis.  We can cancel a trip at any time due to lack of enrollment, so register early.  We’ll need the name, the full address (including zip code) and phone number of each person going on the trip.  Please be sure to have this entire information ready at the time of registration.

 

Saturday, December 6, 2014; Holiday in Manhattan

TOUR OF MAGNIFICENT GRAND CENTRAL STATION, renovated to its 1913 glory. The Beaux Arts building fell into disrepair and only through the amazing guidance of Jackie Kennedy did ef-forts result in the preservation of the historic landmark. Following our tour we will have free time to enjoy: 68 Shops and 35 Dining Options, Grand Central Holiday Fair held in Vanderbilt Hall, 76 Hand-picked vendors of unusual and exotic goods that cannot be found elsewhere. This afternoon we have a guided tour of The Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine. Begun in 1892 this Cathedral, the largest in the United States is a stunning example of gothic architecture. With stained glass windows that filter light so that they seem to glow and amazing architectural detail, this building is a place of reflection and of awe. Our guided Tour highlights wonderful art, sculptures, radiant stained glass windows, the magnificent Rose Window…….

Tuesday, July 7, 2015; All-You-Can-Eat Lobster & Entertaining Show

All you can eat lobster & entertaining show at the Delany House in Holyoke, MA. Great Lobster, Good fun! Served at your table: Cheese and vegetable platter, shrimp cocktail and salad with bread basket. Buffet Menu: Lobster! Lobster! Lobster! With a variety of salads, pasta, hot entrees and yummy dessert. There will be a fun musical performance by John Timpanelli, popular entertainer and classic performer Broadway to Opera, Nostalgia to Comedy.
