Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force

The Watertown Police Detective Division is an active ICAC Task Force member, proactively investigating internet crimes. Our investigative focus is on the distribution of child pornography and the sexual solicitation of children through chat rooms, social networks, and other means. Our agency has the equipment and means to investigate these high tech crimes. We work with other area departments, state and federal agencies to acomplish these tasks.

| The Watertown Police Department and the Watertown School system have collaboratively created an internet safety presentation geared towards students at grade 8 and 10 level. The presentation’s intent is to educate students on not only how to protect themselves from predators, but also on how to keep themselves from breaking the law while using the internet. Below you will find a link to view the presentation in it entirety. The presentation includes four videos. For ease of viewing, the videos are not in the presentation but are avaliable as links below the presentation. A PDF document named BOE PPT Slides offers a brief explanation on the slides. If you do not have Microsoft PowerPoint, a link will be provided to download a free viewer. The Watertown Police Department plans on hosting an Internet Safety Presentation for parents and guardians in the near future. When the date is avaliable it will be posted here. |
