TOURNAMENTS / GOLF OUTING RULES

(Revised effective February 1, 2000)

Special ONE-DAY TOURNAMENTS will be considered providing they have:

1         Starting times that are reserved for your group must be followed. (Golf carts subject to availability)

2        Applications for tournament date by letter to be received by the Golf Professional or Recreation Director at least (30) days prior to tournament date.

3         Golf carts are given out on a first come, first served basis.  There are no golf cart reservations.

4        Weekday Shotgun Starts will begin at 9:00 am or earlier.

5        For reserved tournament starting times a $ 50.00 tournament fee will be charged.  The fee is required to be paid in advance, and is non-refundable.

6         There is a $ 5.00 per golfer fee charged, that must be spent in the Pro-Shop for tournament prizes.

7        Town Ordinance prohibits the consumption of beer, wine, liquors or other alcoholic beverages on the Golf Course.  Beer can be purchased at the snack bar area, and must be consumed in the same area and the individual must be 21 years of age...proof must be presented.

8        All players who are participating in the outing must follow all course rules and regulations.  Outings have NO SPECIAL PRIVILEGES OR REDUCED FEES.  All players will pay daily green fees as required.  On Saturdays or Sundays no tournaments will begin before 11:38 am during peak season, unless approved by the Park and Recreation Commission.  In consideration of the granting of this “Golf Outing Permit”, the applicant agrees to be responsible for the supervision and conduct of all players in his/her group.  Players assume responsibility and will be liable for any damages caused on Town of Watertown property.

9        Only Tournaments guaranteeing 100 or more golfers paying in advance would be considered for a “SHOTGUN START”.

10    Golfers of 100 or more must be approved by the Watertown Parks and Recreation Commission. Any golfers up to 100 can receive fast "in house" approval at Watertown Recreation.

11      Arrangements for food services should be made directly with Crestbrook Restaurant personnel.  Cavallo’s Crestbrook Inn telephone number is (860) 274-1628.

REQUIRED:  The Golf Pro must be notified 2 weeks in advance with an appropriate count of golfers.  The exact final count is required 4 days in advance, reserved by credit card.  All “NO SHOWS” must be paid for.  There will be a 3% service charge for use of credit cards.

EXCEPTIONS:  Historically sound tournaments will continue to make payment in full day of event and starting times will be at the discretion of the Park and Recreation Commission.

 

TOURNAMENT POLICY

Due to the magnitude of requests received for tournaments at Crestbrook Park Golf Course, priority will be given to local and/or non-profit charitable local organizations, for the benefit of the residents of this community. (Per Watertown Parks and Recreation Commission, 12/3/98.)

In the case of tournaments over the specified maximum of 100 players (which must be approved in advance by the Watertown Park & Recreation Commission), only two tournaments will be allowed per month.  If two tournaments over the maximum of 100 players are to occur in the same month, they will not be allowed to play on the same day (i.e., one tournament on Tuesday, June 4th and one tournament on Tuesday, June 11th will not be allowed since they are both on a Tuesday).
