THE POSITION: Responsible for routine and specialized clerical duties of a confidential nature, plus financial recording. Types memos and letters. Answer questions from the public, either over the telephone or in person. Completes forms, operates office appliances such as typewriters, computers, calculators and copiers. May process applications, forms, and permits. Performs other related work as required.
REQUIREMENTS: Must have good typing ability and knowledge of rules of punctuation, grammar, and spelling. Must have considerable knowledge of standard office procedures and ability to set up and maintain filing systems. Requires computer literacy and knowledge of bookkeeping. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, employees and supervisors. Must have a High School diploma and at least two (2) years of secretarial experience. Must be bondable in accordance with the General Statutes of Connecticut.
EXAMINATION: Oral interview.
