SALARY RANGE $72,525 - $93,336
Works under the administrative direction of the Director of Public Works; provides immediate supervision to the Assistant to the Town Engineer and the Engineering Division Staff. Plans, directs, supervises and evaluates the work of the Engineering Division, including capital improvements and routine construction and maintenance programs. Writes construction contracts, bid specifications and payment requisitions; manages administration of construction and other contracts. Investigates and answers complaints from public; writes engineering and progress reports; prepares annual budget for division; controls division expenditures; advises Boards and Commissions on technical matters and reviews and reports on the engineering aspect of applications before them. Performs related work as required.
Must be a graduate from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering plus eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in municipal public works, including three (3) years in a supervisory capacity; OR any combination of training and experience, including three (3) years in a supervisory capacity, which provides a demonstrated ability to perform the duties of the position. Must have thorough knowledge of civil engineering and municipal public works principles and practices, especially of drainage and roadway design. Must have considerable knowledge of public works construction methods; public administration and personnel management principles and practices; and good skill in engineering design. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Town and State officials and general public. Must be a State of CT Professional Engineer or become one within one (1) year. Land surveying license desirable, but not required. Must have a valid CT driver’s license or be able to obtain one within five (5) days.

TOWN OF WATERTOWN
15 Hours a Week, $14.85 per Hour
THE POSITION: This is a part time position of approximately fifteen (15) hours a week – 3 hours per day Monday through Friday. Responsible for all routine custodial tasks at municipally owned public buildings. Works under the immediate supervision of the Purchasing Agent or a designated agent. Vacuums; sweeps and washes floors; cleans bathrooms and keeps them supplied with paper, tissue and soap; empties all garbage containers; dusts; washes windows; maintains inventory of custodial supplies; performs related work as required.
REQUIREMENTS: Must have considerable ability to follow instructions and complete tasks without constant follow-up. Good ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superior and the general public. Must have a Connecticut driver’s license or be able to obtain one in sixty (60) days. May be asked to report to work for emergency cleaning.

PART TIME ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER/2ND SHIFT
Pay Range Between $13.66 and $15.18 per hour
20 Hours per Week
THE POSITION: Responsible for enforcing the State statutes and regulations and the Town ordinances pertaining to dogs and other animals. This position works under the supervision of the Animal Control Officer. Responsible for answering, investigating and takes appropriate action concerning complaints about barking, stray, injured, dead, mistreated, roaming, vicious or unlicensed animals, including cases of dog bites and cases of wild animals. Must maintain detailed records and prepares reports of her/his operations. Operates and maintains the Animal Control Shelter in a clean and orderly manner included but not limited to, care and feeding of animals, cleaning and disinfecting the kennel areas.
REQUIREMENTS: Good ability to read, write and compute figures. Working knowledge of State and local statutes and ordinances relating to domestic animals. Ability to work outside under all weather conditions. Have the ability to carry and /or remove animals, supplies and equipment which may exceed 50 pounds. Must hold and maintain a valid Connecticut driver’s. National Animal Control Association (NACA) Certification preferred. Must be available for emergency calls and vacation coverage for full time officer.
