&= nbsp; Mr. Hoffman: They started cut= ting trees down for the Swift addition and I have a couple of problems with the trees that they haven't cut. = There are a couple of large ones right across the field and I was talking to some= of the people in charge, and they said it's not in the clear cut line, and whe= n I look at the trees, the clear cut line is right at the base of the tree, and these trees are pretty big, and every Spring I'm picking up branches on my = side of the property and I'm just concerned that in 4 or 5 years we might be concerned that those trees are going to come down on a bus or on a driveway that's brand new. Those two t= rees, I was thinking maybe we could ask them to cut them down, how much more woul= d it cost, what the procedure would be. I talked to a couple of gentlemen who said it had to come from the T= own to say cut these trees down or whomever.&n= bsp; And another issue is there is another larger tree down at the base of the driveway that is totally dead, and the base of that tree is probably 3 = to 4 feet in diameter, and again talking to the gentlemen cutting down, they sai= d we should be cutting this tree down, so I don't know what the process is to ma= ybe get that done while the equipment is there, and then once they start the construction we wouldn't have to worry about cutting that thing up.
&= nbsp; Mr. Porter: That's at the Swi= ft driveway?
&= nbsp; Mr. Hoffman: Yes. There's one that's right between my driveway and Swift's driveway, but it's right at the Swift driveway and I m= ean the bark is falling off the tree, there have not been leaves on that tree f= or the past couple of years, and I'd just be concerned if somebody was walking= up that sidewalk, on a day like today, busses, things like that, and the other two, I mean while the equipment is there maybe take them down.
&= nbsp; Mr. Porter: We'll take a look= at it.

We are looking for submittal sched= ules, etc. and there was a meeting and these items were discussed. Fred will be back tomorrow and we'= ll schedule a meeting just to catch up on the status. I was looking to have the status f= or you tonight, I don’t have an update, so maybe Scott can give an update on where they are with their submittal process and so on.

Meeting minutes, logs, (inaudible)= we have a list of contracts in there now that we've brought out, and (inaudibl= e) overall schedule in there. We submitted these items to your office as far as the overall schedule goes, submittal log. Actually we ne= ed to submit the submittal log yet.

= ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. Scholl: We have a list of subcontractors c= oming through as well, so we'll get that out tomorrow. We had a meeting with the Fire Chi= ef last week over abatement issues that we were going over the drawings, and we found that in the stairwells where they're calling for joint compounds, it's all plaster, so we had the abatement company come back, Brooks, and he found that to be true, that there is no joint compound so he went and tested the whole building again and he's going to come out with new drawings, hopefully soon, I haven't been able to contact him, I'm trying to contact him so we c= an get that issue resolved. Ther= e will still be some abatement, but I believe there will be much less.
&nb= sp; = M= r. Porter: The questions I h= ad you've already addressed, the subcontractors, if they are all in place.
&nb= sp; = M= r. Scholl: Yea, pretty much,= we have all the exterior, it's just the interior guys like the flooring and painting we haven't settled yet, but as far as your steel, concrete, mason, they're all there, waterproofer. Roofer I'm still trying to track down, we have the electrician, plum= ber, mechanical, they're all set, they've all pretty much received letters of in= tent in the last two weeks, and the shop drawings are procuring as we speak.
&nb= sp; = M= r. Porter: The other questio= n was where we stood on submittals so far.
= ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. Scholl: They're just begi= nning, as we get letters of intent out, so it takes a couple of weeks so in Februa= ry you'll start seeing something, especially shop drawings take at least 3 to 4 weeks. As far as the drywalls= you should see those submittals procuring within the next week. By next meeting that submittal log, you'll see quite a few items submitted.
= ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. Malik: We typically will = be generating meeting minutes, etc. for the job meetings.
= ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. Scholl: Those are the mee= ting minutes that I couldn't find, I put yours in there. We don't make any meeting minutes,= I just have these in there.

= ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. Malik: One of the things = that needs to happen and I’m sure we'll discuss it, is when something like that comes up, it needs to go through us so then we can stay on top of Broo= ks and these consultants to make sure that they respond to you. We have a way of getting a hold of= them.

Malik: I was at the first meeting, the preconstruction meeting with the contractors and it was good.<= span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'> Most of the contractors were there= and it was an efficient meeting, which is always good. Nothing really to report. We're looking forward to more submittals, and they are coming in. As the R.F.I.'s are coming in we're responding to them, but we're fa= irly in the stage and (inaudible) that will happen very soon I'm sure, so there's not really much more to report.

&nb= sp; &= nbsp; Mr. Vetro: Really there isn't= a lot to report other than we're working on site, we've got the approval now for = our job site trailers. They were = shown originally in the back field, (inaudible), we've now gotten approval to go = more towards the front of the school and back side there, right near the screen,= I'm not sure if you were aware of that, but where they were shown was a great distance away from the school itself and we would have to walk across a mud= dy trail, whereas now we can at least walk across the parking lot, the (inaudi= ble) how we're accessing the building. The other aspect too about moving the trailers, we're going to stay = out of an area that would have otherwise have caused us to move a second time.<= span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'> Now we're going to be stayed posit= ion in such a way that we'll be there throughout the duration of the project, we w= on't have to move the trailers until the job is done, so we've gotten that appro= val by the Inland/Wetlands Commission. <= /span>The other areas that we're working in now is of course we're doing a lot of site clearing and tree removal, that sort of thing.
= ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. Porter: You heard the gentleman's comments?
&nb= sp; = M= r. Vetro: Yes, he's got 3 tr= ees and he's concerned with them. We actually have a meeting with K.B.A. on Monday and we'll be looking at that issue. I've got another issue= that we'll be meeting with K.B.A. on and the soil engineer concerning the roadwa= y on the north side, what we're finding is the roadway is under water right now where we're supposed to place this roadway and so we're feeling that we're going to hit a bunch of unsuitable material through part of that stretch anyway, so we're planning on excavating a portion of it, have K.B.A. take a look and see what we need to do, if anything, with that particular (inaudib= le).
= ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. Malik: When you say engin= eer, are you talking the geotechnical?
= ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. Vetro: Yes. It's Clarence Welty, so we'll have= him up there with us, it will probably be his son, but we'll have them up here = to review and watch as we open that area up.&= nbsp; I don't want to open it up until I have them on site because if I op= en it up it just leads to more problems without having them there.
= ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. Malik: I drove by the sit= e and there was a trailer floating down the brook, I don't know if it was yours or not.

So anyway at that aspect we've gone ahead and met with Larry Black and we've gotten permission to build some temporary partitions to separate construction from the school itself in a couple of areas. We actually = went for, it looked like we were going to go for a modification, the State ended= up saying we did not need that so he was able to make his own call and that was good. We met with Todd at tha= t job site meeting a little meeting thereafter, we plan on meeting with them once= a month just to go over school issues and that sort of thing.
&nb= sp; = M= r. Porter: You called about = an allowance for the stone, where the trailers are going to go, and use that f= or the walkway, or means of egress for the back of the school so why don't you just bring us up to speed on that.

; Mr. Vetro: What was shown on the special
instructions was to go ahead and provide basically a stone pad for the trai=
lers
to sit. In talking to the
contractor and then going over with what happened during the (inaudible) it
does not appear that I can get any kind of credit for that work. The intention, or their goal was to
actually make use of the parking lot that they were going to build through
construction and have it sit on that, which actually they're planning on
starting that work next week, well the end of this week, they're going to a=
ctually
open up that parking area and then they'll get into the roadway, the roadwa=
y is
where we're going to see our problems, but they were planning on bringing t=
hat
stone in, bringing the foot layer of material, setting our trailers on top =
of
that which was worked out through the cost saving ideas. So I can't get an actual dollar cr=
edit; I'll
get a little minimal cause they would have had to pay for refreshing that s=
tone,
if you will, at the end, but I won't get the value of the whole thing, so t=
he
temporary walkway, the cost of that is $6,719 is what their proposal is.

= ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. Vetro: Permanent. The problem was again with part, t= he specs, we were expecting those started back in the Summer time, prior to sc= hool getting in place. Now school = is in place, we can't put in the permanent for a couple of reasons. We're in the temperatures of which= we cannot put in the asphalt to put in with, we have a bunch of storm drainage= and a (inaudible) water system that comes up right against the building, waterproofing, damp proofing up against the building itself, all of that ne= eds to go in prior to the sidewalks going into place. Given the weather I just can't do = that type of work, so we won't do that until after school gets out, come Spring time, so now I need to simply put in the stone so the kids have proper egre= ss prior to or while we're under construction.
= ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. Ceniccola: Can any of that material be recapt= ured for reuse?
&nb= sp; = M= r. Vetro: We're only going t= o put in a 6 inch layer of material, it's going to be 5 feet wide, but you only n= eed to make 4 feet; the problem is I already know I'm going to lose the sides.<= /p>
&nb= sp; = M= r. Ceniccola: It's going to = spill over?
= ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. Vetro: Well you'll lose t= he sides because it's not exactly the hardest of material right now, you don't have a good base, so you're just bridging over the top of a soft soil. Just walking on it right now it's a little bit spongy. Now it will freeze, but we're going to see what we've gotten here the past couple of we= eks, freeze, solid, rains, and that sort of thing, more than likely this stuff w= ill not be something we can salvage.

Malik: Well I think the w= ay we had set it up in our initial discussions that the Committee would review the time being spent by the Project Engineer.&= nbsp; When we got our initial proposals we had said we were looking at few months potentially of a Project Engineer on the job and as we move forward = we would evaluate the need, so we know that for 6 months there is definitely a need to get all of the schedules and submittals, etc. taken care of. I've had a discussion with Joe and= he's concerned cause it's a fairly good sized project and we'd like to see the P= roject Engineer on the whole time. I= know that during the Summer months when there's a lot of activity it probably ma= kes good sense, I would suggest that we evaluate as time goes on and if it turns out that there isn't, if you feel that the need is not that great, we'll ta= lk to O & G about it at that time.
= ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. Porter: Okay, so K.B.A. will keep us advis= ed of that, when we should be looking at it.
= ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. Malik: I think for the first 6 months the= re is no two ways about it and then at that point we'll start looking at where th= ings are, how busy people are, and what the needs are.
= ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. Vetro: Marcel I'm going t= o be using for of course the submittals and R.F.I.'s. Once we get through that and once = he gets some breathing room, we'll be going out into the field more to help Ca= rl, our Superintendent. It's a ve= ry large project and you've got a lot of areas that are going to be opened up,= especially in the Summer, where we are going to be all over the place and where one pe= rson isn't gong to be able to observe or see anything all at one time. Sometimes you get into an issue wi= th one issue with one contractor and it will take that Superintendent's entire foc= us that day, and you can't go ahead, I myself, I can spend a little bit of time out there, but I can't spend enough time too, so that's where someone like Marcel, he can be out there looking at some of these other areas that aren't being observed during that type of a period.
= ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. Malik: We had anticipated a second Superi= ntendent during those busy periods and if Marcel can fill that role, I think that's a good thing because he's going to be familiar with the job, and instead of bringing someone fresh in who's not as familiar with the job for those time= s, if that's your plan, I think it may work for us.
&nb= sp; = M= r. Ceniccola: I think your assessment is that we would, I think it's on target, we should reevaluate i= t as we move along in the process, so I think right now I feel comfortable with that.

If it's a large item= it needs to come back to us. We = will hold a special meeting if need be, we won't hold you up at all, but I think between the job site meetings and the Buildings Committee we can come up wi= th a dollar amount that everybody is comfortable with. The job site meetings are open so = any member of the Committee can attend them.&n= bsp; I think that will address.

&= nbsp; Ms. Robson: Just to make you = aware, I'll ask them to go through Todd and then meet with whoever they need to, b= ut we have a couple of Town projects coming up that are impacted or could impa= ct the Swift project. One is the= Colonial culvert repair, if that gets approved, on February 21st we're going to have= a referendum for Wattles Brook, which would impact it so just in terms of tim= ing and scheduling and all of that, I'll ask Roy and Frank to get a hold of you, Todd, and then you can work through everything.
&= nbsp; Mr. Porter: Yea, cause both of those will impact the Swift project.
&= nbsp; Mr. Vetro: With this roadway,= when Clarence Welty comes out and looks and directs us to provide undercutting or that sort of thing, I'll be getting a hold of you with respect to that. I just don't know what the cost wi= ll be, just want to make sure everyone is aware, we'll probably have to proceed on= a time and material basis on that type of an item.
&= nbsp; Mr. Porter: We had not antici= pated anything in that area, correct?
&= nbsp; Mr. Malik: I think we'll have to see what Welty says, cause sometimes a lit= tle bit more analysis on what can be done there.
&= nbsp; Mr. Porter: We did have site work and soil samp= les and test borings and so forth where the new building is going to be.
&= nbsp; Mr. Vetro: I just like to preempt any kind of problem. By opening up the so= il I know that we are under water in a couple of spots so we already know that w= e're going to have some work and maybe when we excavate it out we'll be perfectly fine, but that's why I requested, when talking with K.B.A. and Clarence Wel= ty be there on site, I have them scheduled for 10:00 a.m., that will give the = site contractor 3 hours to open things up, if you will, and then they can observe what went on up to that point and make an analysis.
&= nbsp; Mr. Malik: Based on what the final determinati= on is, are you (inaudible) anticipating working on this? What's your schedule to do that?
&= nbsp; Mr. Vetro: They'll be right there on site to d= o it, that's why I'm going to have K.B.A. and Clarence Welty there, cause I don't want to open something up and then find that I have a problem, then try to = call people and get them out there for a day or two later and have the Heavens o= pen up and make the situation that much worse.

&= nbsp; Mr. Porter: The timeframe you said was the end = of this week, beginning of next?
&= nbsp; Mr. Vetro: Monday they're goi= ng to be doing that part of the roadway. The end of this week they're going to do the little parking lot area= off of that roadway in the back. They're not anticipating any kind of real issue. The roadway, we have an advantage,= that calls for about 20 some odd inches of material to go back in that roadway, = so what we're anticipating occurring, talking to my Superintendent, he's think= ing that maybe a geofabric or something as inexpensive as that can be rolled out after we take out the topsoil and that sort of thing and bridge over the to= p of anything, but again that's for Clarence Welty or K.B.A. to determine. So it could be as inexpensive as .= . . . or it could be even cheaper than that if we don't have to do anything.
&= nbsp; Mr. Porter: Okay, and there is a job site meet= ing on Wednesday, the 25th?
&= nbsp; Mr. Vetro: Correct, at 9:00- a.m. If anyone wants to= come to that, or if you just want to come by the site, at any point in time, onc= e I get my trailer out there I'll be out there full time so if you just want to come by the site, or whatever, I'll be more than . . . . . .
&= nbsp; Mr. Porter: What we've talked= about with the Committee, was to check in at the trailer, whatever safety requirements, you know, obviously we'll adhere to it.
&= nbsp; Mr. Vetro: Great. The only thing I have is hard hats= and at least some sort of shoe, not an open faced shoe. I've had people with sandals, flip flops, etc.
