Chuck told Gar San what how and why (inaudible) and Gar San prepared the documents, but before he came here, we asked him to take it back and make sure that this is what the Town's requirements are and this complies with it, and Chuck has said that this is what the Town's requirements are, so he has (inaudible).

Gar San requested that because the site doesn't have enough room, th= at the Building Committee reconsiders and approves for off site (inaudible) for this item and that's how this came about.&= nbsp; The consensus was that as long as this was a one time deal, so it doesn’t set a precedent, something else comes and says I want to get = paid off site storage, so he agreed that and put it in writing (inaudible). The amount he's looking for is alr= eady included in Gar San's requisition.

&nb= sp; &= nbsp; Mr. Vetro: We open this up an= d go over the summary data. We've = gone on the addition renovation work, 3% to 6% complete. Site work has gone from= 9% to 14%. The construction funds available have gone down from 1.3 down to 1.268 and now we'll get into (ina= udible) by trade contractor.
= § Asbestos abatement, we have additional asbes= tos fittings, two items there, one for $6,000 and one for $7,000. The one for $6,000 (inaudible) asb= estos material they located in the tunnel that was not shown on the plans and it = had heat piping that ran through it versus the asbestos material. The other one is in the girls locker room, when we demoed out the wet wall, we uncovered a glass block, evidently that building had been an addition and j= ust encapsulated the old glass blocks. The glass block has asbestos caulking going around it, and there was also asbestos roof flashing, etc. still in tact, all of that had to be remo= ved and abated.

= § Footing Drains - We went ahead in looking at= the building it was decided we should add additional footing drains due to all = of the water we're uncovering. W= e've encumbered a fair amount of water coming out from springs or water so it was recommended that we put additional drains underneath the slab to pick up th= at water to keep it from coming through the building.
= § Rock - they encumbered some rock when they w= ent to install a storm drain manhole. I allo= cated $1,500, it's just my estimate.

Masonry - we've got two items here, chair
= § Steel - we have canopy steel finish, you'll notice it's a zero dollar. I'= m showing it as a zero dollar. What's called for is a galvanized product, however it = was asked to give it a color. Goi= ng with a color is a (inaudible) paint, should be no cost issue. If anything it should be a little = bit cheaper going with anemic over the galvanized.
= § General Trade Items - Locker color credit of $3,857, there's where we went from a special color to a standard color.
= § Site concrete & Case Rock - (inaudible)<= /p>
= § Concrete Case Rock Cap - they're actually one and the same type of issue. WE encumbered a rock that was encased in concrete the decision was made to take out the cap first then they were able to go ahead and simply take out enoug= h to get (inaudible) concrete (inaudible) in that same location. It would have been too difficult t= o try and remove the rock since it's underneath the existing foundation and it co= mes and protrudes into the new building area, so it had to come out in pieces which is the reason for those costs.

= § Alternate #6 - Wood Doors - this was taken existing wood doors which were shown to remain and we were supposed to simp= ly refinish them and replace them with new. This is not replacing all, giving = you 100% new doors across the building, but it increases the number of wood doo= rs that are new, and this cost was for $9,000 for Alternate #6. Freddie actually had $17,000 in th= eir contract, K.B.A. was then able to negotiate it down to $9,000 (inaudible) to yourselves for approval.
= § Drywall - again we have this chairlift with = all masonry. If we went to all ma= sonry you would get a credit from the sheet rocker for not doing the sheet rock, = so that came out to $33,143. Tho= se other two items we've already seen. IN fact the gypsum board additions were= to proceed on time and material not to exceed as well as the toilet room.
= § Flooring - there we have an item called clea= ning existing floor. The existing = floor especially in what's going to become the consumer science wing, the area has existing glue and skim coating material that's loose, appears to be loose.<= span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'> We're just throwing $5,000 at it a= s a placeholder, don't honestly have (inaudible) right now.
= § Painting and Wall Covering - this is a credit for not refinishing those wood doors, that came = out to $1,980.
= § Plumbing - footing drain at the boiler room, while we were excavating for the boiler room we ran across an existing foot= ing drain. (i= naudible) indicated this is the cost simply to extend it over to the storm system.
= § Electrical - elevator power requirements - t= he contract that was awarded was given to Cohn. Cohn elevator requirements are a l= ittle different than the elevator that was speced out. As such the cost for the additional electrical is $1,573. The next one down is the electrical conduits, this i= s now for the actual conduits themselves. Before it was just simply the trench to take it out. This is for putting in the conduits, that<= /span> came to $17,319. Electrical o= utlets - there were two outlets and data outlets that were added through the compu= ter room. FF&E type issues, that came out to $3,395. Some additional power and lights i= n the tunnel areas were requested at a total of $9,012.

CL&P was looking for a 5 inch,= we' haven't gotten verification if they can put that back down to 4. 4 was s= hown on the drawings, and CL&P agreed initially to 4 inch, then they went to 5 inch. (Tape #1, Side A ended - may have missed s= ome).

You need one pull box because what happens we already have a lot of our storm drainage in, just to get it in y= ou either have to go above or below and if you go above, it gets close to the surface (inaudible). The pull= box will be on one side of the culvert if you will.

= ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. Khericha: Yea, regarding Ray's concern about= the electrical numbers, we did talk to the electrician today to consult him als= o, and ask him for all the breakdowns of every item. Once we have those reviewed, our consultant will recommend what he feels the reasonable number is and if he doesn’t agree, then we'll go to time and material.
&nb= sp; = M= r. Kuegler: Some of the prob= lems we have with in ground conduits is when they go = to leads (inaudible). They will = add the cost of labor of installing the coupling on the conduit and the elbows = and all that, when you get it all done then they give you a price on installing= the conduit, but the conduit got installed when you priced the couplings, so it= 's almost like double dipping.
&nb= sp; = M= r. Khericha: That's why if we don't agree with it, we'll to it on T & M. So maybe our consultant will say t= his is what we're prepared on doing, and if he doesn't agree with it, then we'll (= inaudible).
&nb= sp; = M= r. Kuegler: Because usually = if you pay $600 for the conduit and you've got, and it's 5 days, you've got a can = of blue, a can of couplings, and the trench is open and it's fairly straight o= ther than the manhole, Joe and I could put it in in an afternoon.
= ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. Khericha: Well this is the problem we have t= oday so we'll go back, take a look at it, from the committee's perspective (inaudible).

Mr. Porter: I sent around a draft copy of am l= etter addressed to the Council on our concerns for repairs to the old Town Hall w= ith the caveat that we do a structural analysis even though we've been taken to task In the newspaper about another study. It doesn't make any sense to put a= ny money into a building if it's not structurally sound. It could be perfectly structurally sound, but the Council needs to address that before any repairs are done.
