building, if you visited the site you can see we've excavated, poured the
foundation and footings, and what needs to appear next is some backfilling =

costs are extremely low on that storage building.

After owner soft costs the amount = is still $1,200,000, down from $1,268,000.&nb= sp; What we're showing is 9% complete for renovation and 20% under site work. If we flip the page ove= r, we'll go into chamber by trade contractor, and find out exactly what moved around.
= § Asbestos Abatement, we indicated $5,000 in addition to the items that were previously approved for some additional fittings that they've located which will be going into the area later on exposing those (inaudible) boys locker room, we're anticipating a few in there. This is just an anticipation, we have not determined the extent.
= § Site Work - the electrical conduits remain at $13,945
= § Footing Drains - I'm indicating $7,500 The construct just gave us a propo= sal that's considerably higher than that and we're going to work with him on th= at (inaudible).
= § Rock - We had indicated at $1,500, still don= 't have an actual dollar amount for that.
= § Unsuitable Soil - footings, we pretty much finished up on (inaudible we still have a section left to go so until that = area is complete they don't want to finalize these numbers.

= § General Trade Items - The items that have changed are considered:

This is an issue th= at resulting through Value Engineering, where we took out the original sills p= reviously determined that we actually need them in certain areas of the building, so = that came out to $31,860.

There's a group of tunnels in that building which is partitioned off with concrete and masonry walls to connect the two, we have to penetration (inaudible) need to be raised and it is an = area that is (inaudible).
= § Roofing - no changes.
= § Drywall - No changes.
= § Flooring -No changes. I did meet with the flooring contr= actor, he raised the issue, we had seen it before so we indicated that something w= ould have to be done. He came out = to inspect the floors and told us that yes, there needs to be something going = on there, he's actually testing the materials to make sure it's compatible with the one, so when he can't simply scrapes off the loose debris or material t= here is still a residue that will be left so he must make sure that residue is compatible. That's being test= ed now.
= § Painting and Wall Covering - No change.
= § Plumbing - No changes.
= § HVAC - No changes.
= § Fire Protection - the item that's changes is= the last one, sprinkler in the auditorium, where we discovered some wood materi= als up at the joist level. The Bu= ilding Inspector and Fire Marshall actually were acceptable to the idea of leaving= it as it is, however the State Inspector has indicated that we need to change that, put sprinklers directly up and down.= I threw a cost in here of $12,000, but I haven't gotten a number from the contractor.
= § Electrical - we have a number of issues that were in contention, as far as the dollars amounts. K.B.A. and I have met with the electrician and made some adjustments with his numbers. The elevator power requirement is = now at $925, at that time he hadn't nailed down his numbers. The actual number came out to be $= 1,065 (inaudible). The cord real in= the wood shop was $1,087 and the tunnel power and lights was $$6,680. We have electrical outlets, propos= al Request #6, $2,099 and site electrical conduits was $12,217 and then the telephone system which was not indicated on this report was $44,000. $40,000 was the original item, and= (inaudible) 10%. He hadn't set that numbe= r at this point in time, however that is the directive received from K.B.A.

The proposal is for all HVAC syste= ms, for telephone security systems as well as data and computer systems. This would be a starter procedure = for doing checklists, punch lists and working with us to make sure that at the = end of this project any type of issues are documented and corrected in an order= ly fashion. Kaestle Boos has bee= n kind enough to right into this amendment that they would forego their contract markup of 15% and be willing to administrate a contract at no markup. If there are any questions I can a= nswer, I'd be happy to do that at this time.

What you have before you is that definition for getting the furniture and equipment, specified design, brought to the School Facilities Unit for approval handling the bid phase, the installation phase, as well as any pun= ch lists that need to occur after the fact in coordinating delivery.

The other area is the front canopy= there is an out hanging, although that isn't doing much good, but again there are bird droppings, there are birds that have managed to work their way inside = the structural canopy and it's fully colonized with birds, and then in the back= of the building where the bus drop-off is, it's the same construction situatio= n, the way that the underside of the steel deck rests on the structural beams,= it basically allows for a bunch of nooks and crannies where birds get in the nests. This has also been rec= ently elevated because the district is participating in an indoor air quality stu= dy which is caused tools for schools and part of the items that are being discussed are bird droppings. So what you have before you is a proposal is to basically put some sheet metal blockers or pieces of sheet metal in between these nooks and crannies and a= long the horizontal areas to block off where the birds are going in and nesting.=
&nb= sp; = M= r. Porter: It doesn't make t= oo much sense to me not to do all 3 areas, and I still have reservations wheth= er that's going to correct the issue. My thought is that these canopies that we actually enclose the botto= m of it so the birds can't get to their (inaudible) but that's going to be consi= derably more expensive and we do not have an estimate.

I s= aw an opportunity in the fact that we had fabricated sheet metal contractors on s= ite, they have their boom lifts on site and they have the expert tradesmen who a= re capable of creating these blockers out of sheet metal on site, and it seemed like a good opportunity and good time to make a valid attempt to solve this problem.
