The primary concern was we wanted = to ensure that the Fire Station (inaudible) operations 24/7, no interruptions,= and we will make sure that when (inaudible) how they plan to keep that place because Gar San's jurisdiction. (Inaudible) trailer so we are saying we have concerns and want them to be addressed, so= we need them to respond and they are supposed to give us a revised construction schedule to incorporate the renovation of the building and the new building into one master plan scheduled rather than have two separate schedules, and he's supposed to give it to us by the end of this month for the next Buildi= ngs Committee meeting, and we are saying if he gives us the schedule, we need to address the comments that we have (inaudible).

= § Unsuitable Soil - $4,594, we're working on a time and material basis wherever we hit unsuitable soil at the footing loca= tions. We hit just a little more in the b= ack today, but other than we should be done with the foundation excavation in t= hat area and it's minor in nature what we hit today.
= § Site Block (inaudible) Drain Manholes - we're still working with Supreme, we don't agree with the issues.
= § Unsuitable Soil at Roadway - $10,000 just a placeholder. We know we're go= ing to hit more in that roadway as we continue.

What I've got here, $20,000 is the= cost for a change soil conditions that we agreed with, we just haven't gotten ba= ckup yet from Waterbury Masonry as far as the actual dollars. It's for where we hit rock and var= ious items right at the foundation wall (inaudible) we had to get their engineer= to modify their design.

= § Masonry - Brick cleaning, the brick on the existing auxiliary gym, it was determined it would be better if we cleaned it. &nb= sp; = M= r. Vetro: The locker room is= set up into banks of lockers, the (inaudible) area of about 20 lockers per area. They have one curtain shutting off the 20 lockers, not individual lockers. The Town decided they didn't need = to isolate a group of kids.

&nb= sp; = M= r. Vetro: It was in front of= the lockers, correct. If you go i= nto the locker room, they'll be banks of lockers and (inaudible) in a U shaped format, there's curtains in front of each U.

= § Fire Protection - the first one, the 2 inch = main drain, due to the value engineering item taking out, we eliminated some of = the fire lines up to the building, but we kept the drains in the existing build= ing a sit was, however we have to relocate that just due to construction with respect to how we built the walls. <= /span>That needs to be taken out. It's r= ight in the boiler room where we're placing a new slab over the top of where the boiler room was, making a 2 level area, so we have to relocate that main drain. The number at the last meeting at about $6,000 and change, K.B.A. and C.E.S. have negotiated this fire protection down to $3,000. NEP - no changes. The sprinkler in the auditorium th= at item was about $8,000 but they negotiated that down to $4,200 for added sprinklers in the auditorium.
= § Electrical - We have the telephone system is still carried. Transformer relocation at $1,443 where we had to move the transformer due to CL&P coming up close to the building across the parking lot area. Telephone system, again part of th= e new up above, $44,000 which is what K.B.A. agreed to as part of the number. The contractor is looking for anot= her 60 and change, however they've given a backup for an additional $28,000.

= ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. Vetro: Yes. They're looking for $108,000.
= Power for the bleachers, the contractor gave us (inaudible),<= /span> we've been trying to negotiate that out with that. 4 reels in the wood shop at $1,087= , that is an agreed upon number. The= power for the kiln, at$2,500 that is a placeholder, we are trying to negotiate th= at out and eliminate that item. Temporary power modification, $28,537, an item we are in discussion with, should actually get dropped, we believe, and the Science Emergency Po= wer Off switch, $5,164, another item we do not agree with. I carry these items only because I've gotten the proposal from the contractor regardless of whatever= I agree.

Mr. Bellagamba: Why do they have to relocate the transformer?
Mr. Vetro: It's shown up against the building= and CL&P doesn't want it there while construction is going on on Building A, the new building, the science rooms, we get a lot of masonry work up over there.
Mr. Bellagamba: Was it planned to go there?
Mr. Vetro: Yes. However again = CL&P with their regulations, is looking for it to be across the parking lot, out= of (inaudible) way.
Mr. Bellagamba: Did CL&P make an error put= ting that there?
Mr. Vetro: Not an error per say, just CL&P rules which seem to change every day.
Mr. Khericha: I think one of the reasons is beca= use how the job started late, and the phasing went out of whack, the phasing was done and the construction was started the way it is, (inaudible). But since it did happen, we need p= ower for the building, CL&P doesn't feel comforta= ble with the transformer right next to the building with all of the construction going on.

The ori= ginal budget is in the first column how much we've expended, this is as of April 12th, I'm working with the Town to automate this process so we can get this= on a more regular basis and that should be available next month as well. The balance remaining in the line = and then also the estimated remaining expense, because we're not expecting to f= ully expend all these funds, which results in the last line which is either a surplus or a deficit, depending on which line you look at. In any case at this current moment= it looks like we have a projection of a surplus of about $234,000 in owner cos= ts, so I wanted to present this first before going into the technology and equipment package and the furniture equipment package because what the Scho= ol department would like to do is get approval for the technology equipment package, up to $400,000 and then we have some additional technology equipme= nt that we are putting on as an alternate and if the Board of Education approv= es and the Public Buildings Committee approves, at the end of this project if there is remaining funding still available, we'd like to be considered for purchase.
