If it's too elementary, I can skip to the next part. We've done a compilation of all th=

would be good to go page by page of where we are with each of the trades, a=

this way you'll have an idea when you leave tonight how well you thought the
bids were.

you look at the draft spreadsheet, I put in all these apparent low bidders =
and
(inaudible). The subtotal bas=
e bid,
this is without the alternates, is $25,615,902. I carried because there's numerous
(inaudible), I just carried the low bidders for the alternates, and the
subtotal for all the alternates was $2,065,646, for a total construction co=
st
of $27,681,548.

nbsp; What
I just handed out, this is the control budget that was given to us by the T=
own
of Watertown, the total project cost that this project is to come in at, wh=
ich
is $27,044,211, and you can see there where the subtotal construction is
$22,284,580, so this is the budget that I worked off of, which is my next a=
nd
last piece of information. Any questions?

I handed out gives you a picture.
The first page is the base bid including all the alternates and at t=

very bottom right hand corner is $8,209,594 is what we are over. That is with all the alternates, a=
nd you
can certainly go over the pieces of this.&=

The second page is the base bid only, with all of the alternates tak=
en
out. At the very bottom right=
hand
corner is $5,968,965, that is our best (inaudibl=
e).

project summary and compare it to the control budget, we pretty much kept a=

the items in order. You'll se=

shaded area on the bottom, under Project Development, Items #19 through #24,
those are items that our estimating department has added on that were not
figured into this original control budget.=
Administrative costs, some of these will be charged to the Town base=
d on
(inaudible) told me to take it out.
Independent Code Compliance Review, (inaudible). Financing, there's commissioning i=
n this
project, (inaudible) see a number for that. Risk Insurance, and we put in
(inaudible) usually is. Any of
these numbers (inaudible) we can certainly take them out. So I just presented a lot of infor=
mation
tonight (inaudible) go over it. I
would recommend that now that everybody has the information, digest it and
schedule a meeting (inaudible) to figure out where to go from here.

looking at to talk to the different bidders and do some value engineering?<=

Malik: In the next couple=
of
weeks (inaudible). We need to=
do
that quickly so we don't lose (inaudible).

Porter: You've certainly
presented, and O & G has too, quite a bit of information tonight, since=
it
was finished at 5:00. I think=
it
would be the desire of this Committee for you to talk to the contractors, s=
tart
some value engineering, and at a minimum sit down with the Board, the
Superintendent, the Business Manager and do some formulating of how we're g=
oing
to (inaudible). We're not goi=
ng to
sit here and tell you (inaudible) talk about the bricks and the mortar, tak=
e it
to the Board of Ed to (inaudible).
If we want to trim the project down, eliminate a lot more things, or=
go
for additional funding, that's a decision the Board has to make.=

overage. We might be able to =

10%, but I don't know if we can more than that.

the event that we say this is unacceptable and we want to go to rebid?=

Purcell: Rebidding is not=
going
to help you. There is an over=
all
problem and we can help . . . . we cannot build the project the way it is
designed, there's not enough money allocated for it, so we can try to get t=
he
project down as much as we can, but there's a problem here that needs to be
addressed, not from our side, from the Town's, we've got to figure out how
we're going to get a project built.

Ceniccola: So in essence =
what you're
saying is the scope has to change.

nbsp; Ms.
Purcell: As well as the
upgrades. They compound each =
other,
but we have two simultaneous paths (inaudible). I wouldn't suggest waiting on our
information before the Town meetings, cause we're not going to be able to, =
that
will not bale it out.

Porter: I understand, but=
we do
have to come up with something.

nbsp; Ms.
Purcell: And we'll certai=
nly
try to get as much out as we can.

Rosa: The timing is poor =

find this out at this time. A=

know because we've got a reporter here that there is going to be something =
in
the paper about it, and we (inaudible).

close out that project. The
apparent low bidder is Grasshopper Lawns, Inc. with a total bid of $12,791 =
and
the alternate is $1,923, so that brings it up to around $14,700 and the
recommendation from Mr. LoFrese was that they go with Grasshopper, the low
bidder, cause they've done work for both the Town and the Board in the past=
and
they seem to be acceptable.
