Khericha: Yes, so he inve= stigated and identified 3 areas, about 10,000 feet of area that he wanted them to re= move the soil, put geotextile fabric, and he recommended other any fabric of (in= audible) 500 and GOPX level. He has ap= proved double layers of fabric in those areas so when they put the base in and com= pact it, it will go down and stay there.

Mr. LoFrese: The overhead door has been installe= d and unfortunately I didn't get the invoice in time for this Agenda so that will= be the close out item at the next meeting.

Mr. Kuegler: Is the Town going to do the electr= ical work about putting the light fixture in the building?

Mr. LoFrese: The Board of Education will take c= are of that.

Mr. Porter: Do forms need to be sent to the St= ate for this project as a final?

Mr. LoFrese: I sent all the forms to the State = D.E.P. when we had exhausted the State commitment which was $500,000 so at that po= int I sent everything off to the State, so it's my understanding all that is do= ne.

= ; &n= bsp; 1. = Monthly Status Report #9, dated October 2006 by O & G Industries (distributed at meeting).

&nb= sp; &= nbsp; Mr. Vetro: Summary Data Sheet= - Renovation and Addition Work is at 42%, Site Work about 59%. Construction Budget available has actually gone up from $899,000 to $910,000.

= ; &n= bsp; = ; Change Orders by Trade Contractor:

= ; &n= bsp; = ; Asbestos Abatement - we had a $5,000 line item for this additional asbestos fitting, total is now $2800. In that 2= 800 $800 was for some repair work necessary for the boiler breaching, etc. The old breaching started to deter= iorate to the point that sparks were hitting the ground. We had contractors, the owners, cu= stodial staff all going into that space, we can't allow that. We have to address that right away= . I talked to Bob about that (inaudible). The other $2,000 is for an additional containment for Summer asbestos work. We had a meeti= ng with the abatement contractor and the consultant, to discuss that as well as several other containments that (inaudible) as an extra.

= ; &n= bsp; = ; Site Work - the only add here is emergency generator pad at $1,000. It's my estimate, just a placehold= er in there. Given the size of the generator, and the sound exposure that's required again we get in to the is= sue of (inaudible) the contractors allow a certain number of rams to pick from, each particular brand is (inaudible) thus we have changes in the pad size.<= span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'> It's not a big dollar difference, = cause we're not changing it that drastic, but there is= a change.

= ; &n= bsp; = ; Concrete - there is no new issues there.

= ; &n= bsp; = ; Masonry - there is no new issues there.

= ; &n= bsp; = ; Steel - the first item is steel allowance of $28,924. We had a variety of steel changes = that have been occurring when building a new addition. Just miscellaneous type tings. WE don't agree with the dollar amo= unt shown here, it's the contractor's proposal. K.B.A. and mys= elf have been discussing this with the contractor. We have a meeting set up for the f= irst weekend in December to discuss it.

= ; &n= bsp; = ; General Trades - The only new issues here are the last couple. We have the gym pads for $4,000, t= he gym corner guards at $1,980, and I show the auditorium finish work at $8,935. That actually incorporates a coupl= e of things. We had approved up to $8,000 for the back auditorium panels and all the auditorium panels need correcting that number came in roughly $5,000 and change, and in addition to that we also had to reface the auditorium stage front, and (inaudible), I've got that proposal. We'll be getting a credit from the drywall contractor to offset some of these funds, so right now I'm showing the 2 items at $8,935.=

= ; &n= bsp; = ; Also the masonry support, in the locker room areas when we did the demolition for the entry way for the new locker spaces, there was an existing steel column that was encased in the brick walls. WE had to support that un a different man= ner. I t required a couple of steep channels, large steel pieces anyway over the h= ead of the entire opening, which was then bolted together. The bolt changed 7,737. The reason we went through the gen= eral trades contractor as opposed to the steel contractor, normally we would have gone through the steel contract, MQM is the steel Contractor out of Canada, we're having a lot of problems with them, especially the timing, getting the material on a timely manner, so we went through Gar San who in turn used General (Inaudible).

We're doing a little s= heet rock to cover up the existing conditions.&= nbsp; We'll run this through the mason allowance so you won't even see it.=

= ; &n= bsp; = ; Flooring - the cleaning of the existing floor, last month we had $5,000 on that item, again that (inaudible) allowance, I just wanted to show that again we're ta= king that out of the system.

= ; &n= bsp; = ; Painting & Wall Covering - there are no issues.

= ; &n= bsp; = ; Plumbing - there are no issues.

= ; &n= bsp; = ; HVAC - I have a few items here. Music Instrument Cabinets at $49,143. (Inaudible) ta= lking about that later on. T= he next one is Lowe r Level MEP - no change in that status. Auditorium Cha= nges at $10,405 - we had a meeti= ng on site today with the mechanical contractor CTS, O & G, and K.B.A. and it= 's been modified to $8,700. The = exact number us actually going to be a little (inaudible) than that when we go through all the (inaudible) and overhead profit. But $8,700 is what we’re goi= ng to show on this one.

= ; &n= bsp; = ; Fire Protection - No issue there.

= ; &n= bsp; = ; Electrical - Auxiliary Gym Electrical at $27,540, Stream Gauge at $9,686 - that's what= CTS was initially dealing as it were, we had an electrician on site today, and they've come up with $10,881. The electrician was actually, his initial proposal w= as over $13,000 and change. Audi= torium Floor/rack outlets at $3,542, there were some additional outlets. CTS felt this is higher than what = they're willing to agree with so we're still trying to work that out. In the gym electrical locations, t= he main gym you have the electrical conduits etc. installed. There's an issue = in respect to the owner and the way they use the gym. Spray at the end ports is running, that sort of thing, (inaudible).

= ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. Vetro: Again, under ASI, HVAC the auditor= ium changes, per our meeting with the mechanical contractor and the CTS, we cha= nged that number from $10,450 down to $8,700 so you're looking at $1,405, roughly $98,000.

= ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. LoFrese: The musical instrument cabinets are lockers for musical instruments. They were originally approved under the Public Buildings Committee u= nder the equipment and furniture package. These cabinets are a proprietary item. We don't technically need them unt= il the band room is renovated, which isn't until the last part of this project in 2008. The supplier had agreed= to hold current pricing for us if an order was in by December 1st. The cabinets are available on Stat= e bid, however the state bid is $13,000 higher than what he's offering it to us through a contract or for, so what we're recommending is that we run it thr= ough as a change order through Gar San at the $44,000 plus their markup for that= , I think it's a 10% markup, so it's a $48,000, so they're guaranteed their pricing, hold their pricing and then come back and install these in 2008 wh= en the band room is renovated.

= ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. LoFrese: The Superintendent and myself were invited to a meeting at the Town Annex to discuss the possible option for the $600,000 grant, and one of the items th= at came up in the discussion was the possibility of using the grant at the Swift Middle School project. After that meeting we were asked to contact Kaestle Boos architects for additional assistance in taking a closer look at feasibility space-wise and funding-wise for this project. We've done that, and Fred Khericha= is prepared to talk about the funding and the estimate and where this would go= and then I believe that the Town Council is prepared to look at this as an Acti= on Item on Monday's Town Council Agenda. I'll ask Fred to talk a little bit about the placement of the field = and the costs associated to this.

= ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. Khericha: Monday we met with Todd and the Town Manager to discuss if there was any way possible to place a standard sized = turf area at Swift and we came up with the area after we conferred with Todd what size, the standard size to play football, soccer, softball, baseball, and we tried to place it, originally the discussion went from 1,003,000 square feet which we though wasn't necessary and the budget wouldn't allow, and the size which is shown in the drawing here identified (inaudible) right now present= ly at the high school.

&nb= sp; = M= r. LoFrese: Correct, the siz= e of that field was pulled off of the as built drawings per the high school trac= k.

= ; = ; &n= bsp; Mr. Khericha: After we did th= at we tried to come up with some costs, to get some fair numbers and the contract= or on site, (inaudible) Industries, we asked him what a fair number was for the base (inaudible). And we had a range of numbers (inaudible) from $375,000 to (inaudible). There was another issue came up th= at we need to have access water for the turf area (inaudible) so we estimated we needed about (inaudible). We = have identified that item. The discussion was then about in the future if they want to put lights for night games, but the cost for the lights are tremendous, maybe close to $250,000 = so it was recommended that under this phase we tried to put just the (inaudibl= e) and in the future we can do the lights, install the lights and then (inaudi= ble) but the conduits would be there and the foundation, so the estimated number= for that, and under I believe southwest corner there is a steep drop and we tho= ught maybe (inaudible) retaining wall or maybe additional material so we allowed some money for that, and we (inaudible) about $790,000 (inaudible).

&nb= sp; = M= r. Khericha: Once this work = is approved, then we'll negotiate with them and tell them we need a credit.

Khericha: It's hard becau= se all of his topsoil was screened and stockpiled so we have to negotiate with him because we asked Chuck also and (inaudible) that all this topsoil, what do = you want to do with it, and the consensus was they won't manage to take all of = this topsoil, try to negotiate with the contractor and say take this topsoil (inaudible) and negotiate a number, so we haven't negotiated a number with them, and I think it will depend on how these numbers will work out, because $600,000 is the number that is available and this is going to exceed it, so= the excess of $600,000 you'll have to go as a change order at Swift and how that number will be br5oken down and hopefully Supreme will be one of the bidders because this will be going to the bid to the Town which will be processed (inaudible) so we will ask them to break down in segments what portion is f= or the turf and the second portion is to do this, so we'll basically keep it separate and hopefully Supreme knowing what the site is, he's on the job, w= ill bid on it, then once the drawings are finalized we'll negotiate and ask the= m to (inaudible) we will be in a better position (inaudible).

&nb= sp; = M= r. Khericha: Fortunately he = has sub graded, he hasn’t placed the topsoil, he h= as graded the site to that point.

= ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. Ceniccola: But if he was going to move toward= s an artificial turf situation, would he have screened that topsoil for use?

&nb= sp; = M= r. Ceniccola: But if we had decided at the very beginning of this project we were going to put artifici= al turf here, we would not have screened that.

&nb= sp; = M= r. Khericha: You still would= have screened it because the documents say that all excess topsoil on the project must be screened and stockpiled.

&nb= sp; = M= r. Ceniccola: So are you say= ing that you would have put in that document that we would have screened that?<= /p>

Now if we're gettin= g a bigger field, and it's going cover the $600,000, we're gaining some field for the money we're going to be spending.

LoFrese: The only item an= d Ill repeat it, when it came to he Building Committee for the furniture and equipment, in the technology package, we indicated that we were going to st= ay within our budget and that at the end of the project we asked for some additional things, and at the end of the project if there was some money available, we hoped that the committee would support purchasing it, so are there things at the end of the project we may like to have, yes, but at the same time we have prepared ourselves to live with the budget.

Khericha: No, not at this= time and the reason I'm saying that is because the new building was speeded up, = the masonry (inaudible) all the walls are up, so there are not any surprises (inaudible). Asbestos in the building is just about removed other than a few areas. All the ceilings are out in the ha= llways so we know that all the walls are (inaudible). The graphic art room are all completed already. So a lot of work in the school, although it's not accepted to be tur= ned over, has been explored for mechanical electrical coordination for the whole project is just about done. (= Inaudible) we know already everything (inaudible).

= ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. Fusco: Yea we may look for another grant,= but 5 years from now.

= ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. LoFrese: We are in the middle of a 3 school study, the high school is included obviously in the 3 s= chool as well as Judson and Polk and if it is a consolation to the group that is looking for something at the high school, that is something that could be considered under that project.

= ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. Kuegler: Now this artificial turf at Swift = would be used by Town Recreation and school department jointly?

On December 11th Kaestle Boos is g= oing to be presenting preliminary concepts to the Board of Education to address = these compliance issues and some other educational issues which have come up thro= ugh (inaudible) our education meetings. = ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. DiDominzio: Todd had requested an update on Trumbull Primary School. Per his request I had sent Mike Mo= ses from our office out to the field, he walked the area, and that was done on October 31st which you have a copy of the report. Based on that, there are = (inaudible) still being repaired plus there are some areas (inaudible) which may have (= inaudible). The overflow drains based on my conversation with SilkTown have now been installed, they're all in place. With the exception of roof R5 whic= h was approved by change order.

&nb= sp; = M= r. Porter: And that was just= the scupper?

= ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. DiDominzio: Correct. The gutter fascia soffet work, the (inaudible) work is in place. The sheet metal (inaudible) has yet to be installed. The roof is in place. I have (inaudible) numerous contac= t with SilkTown trying to get them to move on the sheet metal. My last conversation with SilkTown= was this morning and he had indicted tome that they're going to be on site tomo= rrow so I will give them a call tomorrow morning to check and see if that has occurred. Once they tart he a= ssured me they are going to continue with the work until it is completed. The (inaudible) repair, one of the= sheet metal guys (inaudible come back and we need to look at the scope of the top half work and additional areas if there are additional areas that need to be addressed. Once that occurs (= inaudible) issue a report and recommendation on what the (inaudible) is going to be. Site visit, Mike Moses indicated t= o me that there was some additional slippage on the covers so we need to find ou= t if that's occurring and what we can do to fix it without (inaudible). Maybe it's a matter of pushing it = back out and pinning them in. Ther= e were on the last visit, Moses was informed there was = some additional leaks on the shingle roof on Phase II and it appears coming from= the ridge area. Mike Moses goes b= ack he will meet with SilkTown, look at that area, get a number to see what needs = to be done to correct that and give us some impact to the Board for recommenda= tion of the cost. There are some miscellaneous repairs on the R7, small areas that Mike Moses will look at it SilkTown to see what needs to be done with those also.

= ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. LoFrese: There was a break in one of the E p= ipes in the facility, and Charlie was overseeing the corrective measures.

= ; &n= bsp; = ; Mr. Beliveau: A couple of weeks ago we lost press= ure in the heating system. It was on a (inaudible). Major break in= that pipe. WE found out the= next day it was determined about where it was and then sent a camera though it to find out where the rake was, in the (inaudible). The pipes ran from the supply room= down below on the left side of the wall, across the playground back of the build= ing and there's an elbow (inaudible) where the pipe broke, two 3 inch grooved t= ype (inaudible). In the camera you could see where there was a locked bridge on one of them, indicating it had been leaking for awhile. Rath= er than tear the art rooms apart and (inaudible) we looked for an alternative route. The practical way to d= o it was to go up through, across and down.&nbs= p; It's insulated so (inaudible) so there as= no danger of it freezing. Come b= ack on line for about a week now and it's (inaudible) a= nd hopefully that will be the end of those issues.
