General Information
The Registrar of Voters are responsible for conducting elections, primaries, referendums, special elections and maintaining accurate voter records. Other activities include redistricting, canvassing and registering voters, having special voting sessions, and conducting registration sessions at high schools.
If you would like to become a registered voter, forms are available at the Town Clerk's Office and the Registrar's Office. To be eligible to become a voter, you must be eighteen (18) years of age and a citizen.
The Registrar's are always looking for individuals to work at the polls on voting days. Contact the office if you are interested in this position.

Notice of 14th Day before Primary Enrollment Session
The Town of Watertown, Registrar of Voters Office will extend their hours on Tues., July 28, 2026, to 2:00 p.m. (Office open 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.), to hear requests by people removed from roles for adding their names to the registry list to vote in the August 11, 2026, Republican Primary and Democratic Primary. This is the last day for a new voter or unaffiliated voter to register in person. All mail-in voter registration applications must be received or post marked by July 24, 2026, in order to be accepted. The Online Voter Registration System will also close on July 24, 2026.
When registering to vote for the first time you must have a valid photo ID that shows your name and address. If your ID does not show your current address (i.e. you recently moved here from a different town or state), please also bring a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or government document that shows your name and address.
