The Watertown Town Clerk’s Office issues Marriage Licenses to couples who wish to marry in Watertown or Oakville.
- The license is valid for up to sixty-five (65) days from the date of issue.
- The fee for a license is $50.
Both parties must come to the Town Clerk’s office with a government-issued photo identification (driver’s license or passport) to complete a detailed worksheet and to take an oath. Please furnish your officiator’s name and contact information; preferably a phone number.
- Marriage Licenses are issued Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:15 p.m.
A list of Justices of the Peace who reside in Watertown can be furnished upon request.
Certified copies of the license may be purchased after they are received for record in the Clerk’s office from the Officiator for $20.
